Chaotic Author Matt Mason
M.G. Mason aka Matt Mason aka The Chaotic Author was a writer from the southwest of England with a passion for coffee, baking and mixing genres.
In Matt's works you can find a variety of horror, fantasy and cosy crime. Creator of Salmonweird, a light hearted murder mystery series with a ghostly twist, he never stopped playing with ideas and listening to his muse.
Matt identified as demisexual (asexuality spectrum) and his later works championed representation for the Ace and broader LGBTQIA community.
Matt began the #HorrorWritersChat, creating a supportive writers community on BlueSky.
You can hear Matt talk about his work and ideas on his Chaotic Author podcast. He also wrote about his experiences of coming out as demisexual later in life at The Grey Rainbow blog.
Matt passed away in 2025 after a hard battle with pancreatic cancer, bequeathing his copyright and royalties to his loving widow, Cat.
